| NAMC’s membership consists
of, but is not limited to, general contractors and subcontractors
as regular members with manufacturers, suppliers, local
minority contractor associations, technical assistance
organizations, state and local government agencies, engineers,
attorneys, and accountants as affiliate or associate members.
Two additional membership programs include:
The Major Corporate Partners (MCP) Program membership
includes construction managers, large general contractors
and major purchasers of construction services. Under
the MCP Program, established in 1989, large prime contractors
and users of construction services are special members
of NAMC and meet regularly
with the NAMC Board of Directors
and its membership to exchange ideas, provide networking
opportunities and to mutually discuss problems and issues
within the construction industry that impacts both constituencies.
The Surety Industry Partners (SIP) Program
is modeled after the MCP Program its members include
bond underwriters, surety bond producers, insurance
agency representatives, associate executives and other
professionals involved in the surety (bonding industry).
The mission of the SIP Program is to develop contacts
and relationships between the surety industry (both
agencies and underwriters) and the minority contractor
community to nurture an already vastly improved climate
of bond accessibility, fair and equitable practices,
and service to a rapidly emerging market of potential
surety clients.
NAMC membership meetings
provide excellent opportunities for participants to
gather cutting-edge information; help shape the direction
of organizations and compare notes with their industry
friends, associates and business acquaintances. NAMC
carries out its commitment to information-sharing designed
to bring members more closely in touch with critical
industry issues affecting their everyday business operation.
In addition to hosting three (3) membership conferences
a year, NAMC publishes and
disseminates information to its members using a variety
of channels (i.e., courses, seminars, bulletins, legal
briefs, newsletters and the “information superhighway).
