| The Washington, DC Metropolitan
Area Chapter (WMAC) of NAMC had a banner year in 2005.
Reorganizing in February, 2005, NAMC-WMAC recruited
an active diverse Board
of Directors from among the top business industries
in the area. |

| FEBRUARY
2005 |
| Assisted NAMC-National
to plan and implement the “NAMC Mid-Winter
Expo 2005” at the J.W. Marriott Hotel,
Washington, DC. One of the highlights of the Conference
was the “DC Baseball Panel Discussion” with
the Honorable Mayor Anthony Williams as the guest speaker. |

| MARCH 2005 |
| Assisted D.C. Councilmember
Marion Barry, Ward 8, to host a “Ward
8 Developer’s Roundtable” to discuss
the significant development projects planned or underway
east of the Anacostia River in Ward 8. |

| APRIL 2005 |
| Assisted in the
Probiz2005, the largest small business procurement
conference in the Mid-Atlantic Region at the Washington
Convention Center. The annual event welcomed over 2,000
attendees and nearly 100 exhibitors and speakers. NAMC-WMAC
facilitated the workshop on “Construction
Opportunities in the Washington Metro Area.” |

| SEPTEMBER
2005 |
Rosalind Stephenwoof,
President, participated in the NAMC-National Board of
Directors Meeting in Washington, DC. At the meeting,
Ms. Stephenwoof was voted onto the National Board of
Directors.

| OCTOBER 2005 |
Participated in the development
of a “White Paper” with NAMC-National in
response to an appeal from Congressman Bennie Thompson
on the Hurricane Relief Effort on the Gulf Coast. NAMC-WMAC
was a part of the entourage that traveled to Mississippi
to participate in the Minority Business Conference held
by Congressman Thompson, assisted to facilitate the
dialog that followed and prepared the draft report at
its conclusion. |

| NOVEMBER
2005 |
| Assisted the DC Sports
and Entertainment Commission and the Clark/Hunt/Smoot
team on the planning and implementation of the “DC
Ballpark Business and Economic Opportunity Conference.”
With over 800 businesses in attendance, businesses learned
about exciting opportunities associated with the ballpark
construction project. NAMC-WMAC followed up with an
exclusive session by the Clark/Hunt/Smoot team on their
“Local Business Utilization Plan”
for our members. |

| DECEMBER
2005 |
based on the outstanding
efforts of Congressman Thompson, NAMC-WMAC and the DC
Democratic State Committee held a business briefing
and reception entitled: “Rebuilding the
Gulf Region—A Commitment to Diversity in the Recovery
Effort.” An award was presented to Congressman
Thompson and Willie Nelson, Vice president, NAMC Southern
Region in honor of their valiant efforts on behalf of
minority business in the Gulf Region. Mr. Nelson’s
award was accepted by Vernon Archer, President of the
newly-form NAMC Chapter in Mississippi.
Met with the leaders in Washington
DC and Montgomery and Prince Georges Counties in Maryland
to foster a partnership geared toward increasing minority
participation in their respective jurisdictions |
