FEBRUARY 2006

Participated in the NAMC-National Mid-Winter Conference in Jacksonville, FL entitled: “Building Business, Creating Legacy: Taking It to the Next Level

MARCH 2006

Participated in Congressman Albert Wynn, 4th Congressional District of Maryland’s “Annual Procurement Fair and Business Expo in Rockville, MD

MAY 2006

Conducted the preliminary activities for the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development and Turner Construction Company in planning the “Turner School of Construction Management Program” for the NEWSEUM Project. The program was scheduled to be held May/June, 2006; however, due to the change in administration at the DSLBD, the event will be held in 2007.

JUNE 2006

Participated in “National Harbor Outreach Event” sponsored by the Peterson Companies and Gaylord National on the development of the National Harbor Project in Oxon Hill, MD.

Participated in NAMC-National Annual Conference in Minneapolis, MN entitled: “Building for the Future Together.”

Served as co-sponsor of Pro-Biz 2006, the largest Small Business Procurement Conference in the Mid-Atlantic Region at the Washington Convention Center. The annual event welcomed over 2,000 attendees and nearly 100 exhibitors and speakers. NAMC-WMAC facilitated the workshop on Construction Opportunities in the Washington Metro Area

JULY 2006

Hosted a reception in coordination with the Executive Office of the Mayor and the Office of Councilmember Kwame Brown to report on “LSDBE Participation in the Nation’s Capitol: Where Are We and Where Do We Go From Here!.” The reception was also designed to introduce Ronnie Edwards and the new Acting Director of the DC Office of Local and Small Business Development. The reception was attended by 0ver 200 local businesses and was co-sponsored by eleven (11) corporate partners and/or local businesses0

Met with Federal, National and Local Government representatives, major corporations and other construction industry organizations to build partnerships with NAMC-WMAC.

Currently working in coordination with the DC Sports and Entertainment Commission and the Clark/Hunt/Smoot Development Team on the involvement of local and minority businesses in the construction of the DC Baseball Stadium Project. Currently serves on the Construction Industry Coalition designed to define construction opportunities for 2007-2005, build capacity of local businesses and provide access to capital.

Currently serves as a technical advisor to the Office of Councilmember Marion Barry, Ward 8 on the implementation of Workforce Development Council designed to coordinate the development projects in Ward 8 to ensure participation of local business and employment of local residents.

SEPTEMBER 2006

Participated in NAMC-National Board of Director’s Meeting at Willard Hotel, Washington, DC.
